I have long had a fascination for light and color, that is what lets us perceive pictures in the first place after all. Though this has mainly manifested itself in an extensive interest in photography I have recently started working on digital painting.
The picture above I painted using Adobe Photoshop playing with different filters and masks. It was based on a pencil sketch I had done earlier on. After almost a year living in the cold Arctic of Svalbard one start getting a certain fascination for ice.
For this picture I wanted to play around a bit with simple shadows and silhouettes to create a simple art style, yet with a certain field of depth. I made this painting entirely from scratch in Photoshop.
